This complete machining solution provides flexible process capabilities for part families from multiple machining operations with minimal manpower. The cell combines the reliability of (3) Giddings & Lewis Vertical Turning Centers with robotic automated material delivery. The Automated Machining Cell features health and safety ergonomics, integrated part quality and qualification, efficient chip management, and Industry 4.0 compatibility. The customer was seeking a more efficient process solution for machining oil and gas components. The third of three cells is currently being installed in the customer’s facility and all parties have been delighted with the production improvements the cells provide.
