Showcasing expertise in annealing process technology

Fives recently sponsored and presented its annealing process technology at the Steel Tech Seminar, which took place on September 18, 2026 in Kolkata, India.

Fives at the Steel Tech Seminar 2026

Each year, the seminar brings together industry experts, steelmakers, and technology providers from India and around the world to exchange insights on the latest developments in steelmaking, rolling technologies, and raw material supply. Staying informed about India’s strategic ambitions and industry challenges is essential, as the country is the world’s second-largest steel producer and aims to reach 500 MTPY of crude steel production capacity by 2047.

Advanced thermal solutions

As a long-term partner of the Steel Tech Seminar, Fives was invited to present its advanced thermal technology for carbon, stainless, and electrical steel. Over the last 10 years, Fives has supplied more than 80 strip processing lines and furnaces worldwide.

For carbon steel, continuous annealing and galvanizing lines support a wide range of applications. For demanding automotive grades, Stein Digiflex® vertical furnace combines advanced heating technologies to reduce fuel consumption and optimize thermal control. For construction materials, appliances, and non-exposed automotive products, strip processing lines with a horizontal furnace ensure process flexibility, consistent product quality, and high productivity.

For stainless steelhot and cold annealing and pickling lines equipped with annealing furnaces ensure flexible operation, uniform strip heating, and precise atmosphere control.

For electrical steel, Fives offers thermal processing solutions with advanced atmosphere management and optimized cooling technologies. These technologies meet the stringent requirements of both grain-oriented (GO) and non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steels while supporting high product quality and process efficiency.
