Fives continued collaboration in the bearing market
Fives Giustina surface grinding machines remain the top choice for one of the largest bearing manufacturers worldwide. They purchased multiple surface grinding machines to grind super-precision bearings and bearings for the wind power market including: Giustina XL-VSD2500 (Vertical Single Disc) and Giustina HDD1067 (Horizontal Double Disc) grinding machines.
The Giustina XL-VSD2500, which grinds large bearings up to 2.5m in diameter for the wind industry, will enter into operation with other XL-VSD machines previously installed in the Asia market. Thanks to the high-quality grinding results achieved from the previous XL-VSD machines and the continued relationship with their Asia plant, our customer reconfirmed their choice for Fives Giustina XL-VSD machines.
Multiple Giustina HDD1067 machines, optimized to grind bearings up to 1m in diameter, will be in operation in their Europe and Asia plants. Other than high quality and performance, the HDD machines were chosen due to their low cost of use, already achieved by multiple previous installations in their Europe plant. Moreover, to match the need of flexibility in manufacturing, the Giustina HDD1067 grinders are equipped with an automatic changeover system and an in-process gauge that will help increase productivity.
