Fives inaugurates its phase III factory in China

The event, which took place at Fives Cryo Suzhou, was attended by Frédéric Sanchez, President and CEO of Fives group, Joan Valadou, French Consulate General in Shanghai, Xiangyuan WANG, municipal party secretary of Taicang City, Zhenyu QI, Chief Officer of Taicang Port Authority, Michelle Shan, China Country Director for Fives group, and Vincent Pourailly, Energy | Cryogenics President for Fives group.

A technological leader in cryogenics for over 65 over years, Fives designs state of the art cold boxes, heat exchangers and Cryomec® cryogenic pumps for the largest gas producers and processing industries worldwide.

To address the Chinese market and serve its local customers, Fives opened its subsidiary Fives Cryo Suzhou in the province of Jiangsu, in the east of China in 2009, with a workshop of 14,000sqm.

Since its opening, Fives’ subsidiary has grown steadily, providing cryogenic equipment to local customers and working in partnership with Fives other subsidiaries in France and Switzerland.

These past few years, it has expanded its activity to support Fives’ international development and has recently extended its workshop capacities thanks to a €7M investment from Fives group.

The newly inaugurated workshop, with a capacity of 7,000sqm, will increase Fives’s capacity in order to sustain its growth on its existing markets but also to manufacture hydrogen-proven cryogenic solutions, in line with Fives’ goal to decarbonize industrial processes and promote greener energies.

The extension will also be dedicated to the manufacturing of combustion products and control systems for a wide range of industries including cement, minerals, energy, steel, and glass. It will support the growth of Fives’ renowned brands, Pillard and North American, in the country, offering optimized performance and reduced environmental footprint to local customers.

International development is at the heart of Fives’ DNA to be as close as possible to its markets. The Group, which was founded over 200 years ago in the North of France, has been present in the Chinese market since 1890 with its first subsidiary (joint venture company with MECC) opening in 1997.
