Arcese Group invests in innovation, chosing Fives to reinforce TYP's delivery service
TYP (To Your Place), the express courier company of Arcese Group, has chosen Fives for their new handling system based on AMR technology to provide a tailor-made delivery service.
TYP specializes in shipping high-end fashion and luxury products, with a tailored customer care service. This Italian company, which was founded in 2021 to offer a cutting-edge and innovative technology delivery service, relies on advanced management systems and brings more and more attention to sustainability.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES TO HANDLE ITEMS WITH EXTREME CARE AND ENSURE FLAWLESS DELIVERY
TYP places a top-level customer experience at the core of its activity, guaranteeing products safety, high professionalism, and advanced technologies for a flawless delivery solution.
“TYP is an express courier company which daily processes luxury products, so each article must be handled in the gentlest way under every process. That’s why we have placed great attention to the sortation phase: we have designed tailor-made chutes to handle items with extreme care.”, explains Fabio Sacchi, New Applications Director at Fives Intralogistics SpA.
The project, located in Milan, includes GENI-AntTM robots equipped with automated induction lines, an automatic barcode reader and different chutes to handle parcels of various type and dimension.
The linear camera system, developed by Datalogic – Fives’ technology partner for many years, detects items information on the robot directly: GENI-AntTM picks up the item and runs under a fully automated barcode reading and volume detection tunnel certified Legal For Trade.

Fives was chosen for its long-standing experience in process automation in the express-courier market but also because its GENI-AntTM technology is flexible and scalable: all features TYP was looking for.
The robotic solution supplied by Fives is easy to install in any available space.
Since the beginning, the system configuration has been designed to cope with future expansions simply adding the number of robots or chutes according to the operational needs.

Each robot can also adapt its speed according to item size, shape and nature: this feature makes the GENI-AntTM the unique sorter able to handle fragile and instable items in such a gentle way.

Fives installed and commissioned the overall handling system in a record time of only eleven weeks.
