Enhancing performance

The project includes the upgrade of the Level-1 control systems of two Stein Digit@l Furnace® technologies supplied by Fives, with annual capacities of 160 and 200 metric tonnes respectively.

Key improvements feature:

  • Latest-generation software and control system upgrades
  • Modernized PLC hardware and operating platforms
  • High-speed optical communication network
  • New engineering and operator stations
  • Multiple fuel options availability: heavy furnace oil, light diesel oil, cold tar oil, producer gas
  • Improvements to material-handling operations

Jindal Steel will benefit from enhanced process reliability, faster response times, reduced maintenance requirements, and greater fuel flexibility. In addition, thanks to the project's short implementation schedule and limited shutdown period, the customer will be able to achieve improved operational performance quickly while minimizing production downtime.

This latest project reinforces Fives' commitment to supporting Indian steelmakers with reliable technologies and advanced services designed to improve operational performance and long-term reliability.
