The Deputy Minister of Industry and Minerals of Iraq visits Fives in Marseille

Fives, a global leader in industrial engineering, was honored to welcome Mr. Naser Kadhim Jebur, Deputy Minister of Industry and Minerals of Iraq, and his delegation, to Fives Pillard’s site in Marseille, France. The visit reflects Iraq’s strategic ambition to diversify its economy and industry, mainly by transitioning to natural gas and developing new industrial technologies to improve efficiency.

Fives, with its long-standing expertise in energy transition, industrialization, and decarbonization, stands as a natural partner for Iraq as the country builds its roadmap for industrial transformation.

The Group is an important player in the Middle East, with a growing footprint in the region and many projects across various industries including oil and gas, cement, steel, glass, aluminium, etc.

Fives: over 100 years of expertise in industrial combustion

The Deputy Minister specifically chose Fives Pillard, Fives’ subsidy in Marseille, for its technical leadership designing combustion systems for the cement and energy industries

Indeed, since 1980, Fives has successfully carried out numerous projects in Iraq’s cement and power sectors. In the cement industry specifically, the Group has worked on new production lines and the renovation of kiln burners. As a result, 30 million tonnes of clinker per year will be produced in Iraq with Fives’ Pillard® equipment.

The visit was also the opportunity to present Fives’ complete offering for the cement and minerals industries—from advanced Pillard® combustion technologies to comprehensive FCB production systems —as well as its ITAS flares and combustion systems for the oil and gas sector.

“This visit confirms the strategic importance of partnering with companies like Fives, whose recognized experience and innovation can greatly contribute to our industrial development I am pleased to have met the teams in Marseille and look forward to future projects that will support our transformation,” said Mr. Naser Kadhim Jebur, Deputy Minister and Director General of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals of Iraq.

“We are honored by the Deputy Minister’s visit and grateful for the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about Iraq’s industrial future. Fives stands ready to support the country’s energy transition and industrial transformation with our state-of-the-art technologies and local expertise,” said Xavier Nicolas, Managing Director of Fives Pillard.

The Deputy Minister’s visit marks a new milestone in the collaboration between Fives and Iraq, reinforcing shared goals for industrial growth and energy efficiency.
