Successful commissioning of Stein Digit@l Furnace at SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant
Fives was entrusted to design and supply two walking beam furnaces - Stein Digit@l Furnace® - each with 300 tons per hour capacity for reheating high-quality steel slabs at the Rourkela Steel Plant, located in the eastern state of Odisha.
The Stein Digit@l Furnace® is equipped with the AdvanTek® combustion system and controlled by the level 2 Virtuo® Edge-R package, ensuring optimum reheating of the slabs with minimum environmental impact.
The AdvanTek® burners provide a unique feature of fuel flexibility allowing the customer to use available fuels most efficiently and easily switch between low calorific value mixed gas and heavy fuel oil, as well as to utilize both fuel in different zones at the same time.
