Industry experts gather for greener glass solutions
The conference and symposium will discuss problems and solutions for melting, combustion, and decarbonization. More information here.
Improving the glass industry’s carbon footprint is a challenge that requires various solutions to overcome. Fives’ presentations at the conference and symposium will contribute expertise to the industry to promote green technology for glass making.
Advancements in greener glass manufacturing
Wolf Kuhn, Chief Expert in Glass Process at Fives Stein, a Fives subsidiary specializing in steel and glass solutions, will present his paper on advancements in melting technology for PV glass at the GPC. He will discuss the physical and chemical limitations of melting PV glass. Recent evolutions in melting tank technology offer higher performance for low iron glass melting while upholding quality and reducing the carbon footprint.
Hubert de la Forest de Divonne, Product Manager at Fives Stein, will present issues with hybrid conversions of conventional tanks at the GMIC. Fives developed a specific superstructure design that addresses these issues while allowing for better energy efficiency and lifetime. It also offers higher electrical boosting inputs.
Don’t miss our experts present their developments on:
- “Melting Technologies for Low Iron PV Glass: Recent Advancements” November 7 at 10-10:30 am (GPC)
- “Hybrid Melting: Issues and Solutions for Superstructure” November 9 at 10:30-11 am (GMIC)
