Fives will supply a fourth V-STAR machine to KNDS to support the ramp-up of its production in Roanne

DEFENSE - Fives Machining announces the signing of a new contract with KNDS for the supply of a fourth V-STAR machine in FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System). Intended for the KNDS site in Roanne, this equipment will enter into service in 2027

This signature comes at a time of profound transformation in European defense industries, marked by an acceleration of production rates, the strengthening of industrial capacities and the increased search for technological sovereignty.

Responding to the unprecedented acceleration of land defense needs

Faced with the changing geopolitical context and the increase in military investment in Europe, defense manufacturers are engaged in a rapid rise in their production. Programs like the Griffon armored vehicle are central to this effort to modernize ground forces.

In this context, KNDS relies on its site in Roanne, a pillar of armored vehicle production in France, where three V‐STAR machines from Fives are already in operation for the machining of critical aluminum parts. The integration of a fourth machine will significantly increase productivity, flexibility and quality in industrial processes.

An industrial partnership at the heart of sovereignty issues

This new order illustrates the strength of the partnership between KNDS and Fives, a leading French industrial player with a long-standing commitment to the defense sector, particularly in the land sector.

Beyond an industrial investment project, this collaboration is part of a strategic logic: securing supply chains, mastering critical technologies, and ensuring the autonomy of production capacities on national territory.

A global approach at the service of industrial performance

In addition to its cutting-edge machining equipment, Fives offers its customers a genuine technological and industrial partnership. The group deploys a global offer at KNDS integrating skills in maintenance, filling and pressure testing, digitalization or even the manufacture of parts and modules.

Philippe Brilloit, Executive Director of Fives Machining: "Defense manufacturers are entering a new era of production. Our role is to provide them with industrial tools capable of following this change in scale, with performance, flexibility and reliability.”
