Fives was awarded new business with Cophana, a leading global pharmaceutical distribution provider.

August 2019, supporting its worldwide expansion and history of strong growth, Cophana signed a contract with Fives, supporting the automation of its order fulfillment center based in Houdeng-Goegnies, Belgium.

The new operation, occupies 14 000m² and will handle 800 parcels per hour, beginning in September 2020.

Cophana, a global service provider for logistics and pharmaceutical distribution, is a subsidiary of McKesson Group, the world’s leading global healthcare provider for wholesale medical and pharmaceutical distribution.

As a major logistics partner, Cophana supports more than 80 laboratories throughout Europe, providing the daily distribution of pharmaceutical products for the Benelux area and several countries within the continent.

Fives supports Cophana’s rapid growth

Fives provides exclusive automated solutions for Cophana’s new distribution center.  The new location, situated in Houdeng-Goegnies, has close proximity to its previous operations in the same vicinity. 

The facility occupies 14 000m² and is fully equipped with two main conveyor lines and 11 picking stations, handling over 800 parcels per hour, including full boxes and detail 

boxes.  Fives’ on-site technology is managed by Trace®, Fives exclusive proprietary software technology, supporting its smart parcel launch module.

Operations will begin in September 2020, supported by Fives’ Smart Automation Solutions teams developed and designed adaptive solution, offering an upgradable feature by adding a third conveyor line, supporting Cophana’s dynamic growth.
