Fives to supply full electrical steel lines to Sanbao Group
The project includes the delivery of two complete decarburizing and coating lines (DCL) dedicated to producing grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel, a critical material used in power transmission and distribution systems. Each line will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes and will incorporate advanced strip processing technologies to deliver the highest magnetic performance steels.
The lines will feature Fives' latest combustion and heat recovery systems, providing overall furnace efficiency of 70% while achieving ultra-low NOx emissions to support the steelmaker’s efforts to maximize energy efficiency and to meet stringent environmental regulations.

The contract also reinforces the long-standing relationship between Fives and Sanbao Group. Previously, Fives supplied a high-speed annealing furnace for a 400,000-tonne-per-year tinplate annealing line at Fujian Kebao Metal Products, another Sanbao Group company, supporting production for the food and beverage packaging industry.
As global demand for energy-efficient electrical equipment continues to grow, this new project will support Fujian Kunbao New Materials in expanding its production capabilities while benefiting from Fives' proven expertise in advanced steel processing technologies.
