Fives supplies Cryomec® pumps for a modernized industrial gases complex
The new complex will be managed by the leading full production-cycle steel mill in Ukraine and one of the largest in Europe, who is replacing the ageing structure to optimize energy consumption and reduce pollutant emissions.
Located in Kryvyi Rih, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, it will consist of an air separation unit and a local pipeline infrastructure.
This modernization will enable the end-user to operate the plant with a substantially higher efficiency and a lower annual energy consumption as well as carbon dioxide emissions.
For this project, which will have a reduced impact on the environment, Fives will supply 9 Cryomec® centrifugal pumps.
The 6 Cryomec® LABS and 3 Cryomec® DGS will be manufactured in Fives’s workshop in Allschwil, Switzerland.
They will be used for LOX (liquid oxygen), LIN (liquid nitrogen and LAR (liquid argon) applications and should be operational in 2022.
This new contract, aside from representing an important cryogenic pumps order, is a testimony of this major EPC’s trust in Fives as both companies have also been recently working together on other projects in Saudi Arabia and in India.
