Fives selected by Renault for the automation of two crankshafts’ production lines

Renault has chosen Fives Cinetic for the automation of two crankshafts’ production lines in its plants in Cleon, France and in Valladolid, Spain.

Renault renews its confidence in the Automation business line of Fives for these two major projects, trusting in the experience of its teams in mechanization in automotive sectors and as a 1st rank supplier on one hand, and reliability of its equipment such as gantry FG90 on the other hand.

These new production lines are made for handling 3 and 4 cylinder crankshafts for Renault Nissan and Daimler engines.

The key sets for both lines in Cleon and Valladolid are:

- 33 FG90 gantries with associated control stations

- 43 pallet conveyors

- 2 robotized station with stock

- 2 Datamatrix laser engraving stations

- 35 parts identification stations (Datamatrix code scanning)

- 2 micro percussion engraving stations

Under the pooling of these two projects in agreement with Renault, engineering solutions will be homogenized for both sites to ensure short implementation deadlines. By the way, a single model installation will be carried out in Fives Cinetic’s workshop. Installation is scheduled for early June 2016 and will be conducted simultaneously in Cléon and Valladolid by Fives Automation teams for putting into production in December 2016.
