Fives’ Pillard technologies decrease consumption and emissions in the energy industry

Fives just signed a contract to supply a Pillard NANOxFLAM® Compact to an energy industry player. Located south of Paris, the customer’s goal is to lower both its energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Fives will provide a Pillard NANOxFLAM® Compact burner to a French industrial company in the energy industry wanting to reduce the power installed on their site as well as the NOx emissions of their combustion operation.

A size 2 and 10MW Pillard NANOxFLAM® Compact will be installed on a Babcock water tube steam boiler to replace a Pillard GRX burner that had been fitted on the boiler 27 years ago.

Thanks to its Pillard BLUEMIx technology and according to the furnace's size, the Pillard NANOxFLAM® Compact’s NOx and carbon (CO) emissions should be under 50 mg/Nm3@3%O2 sec without any external smoke recirculation. The local regulation is currently at 100mg/Nm3 @3%O2 sec, which shows the end-user’ will to act for the environment and Pillard technologies’ ability to raise to the energy transition challenges.

For this contract, Fives provides a complete service including the burner and BMS (burner management system), the dismantling of existing equipment and the assembly and commissioning of the new equipment.

The commissioning will take place in September 2023.
