Fives International Program, an Educational Program in Bahrain
As part of this academic program, Fives provides a 3 to 6-month internship opportunity within its worldwide network of companies, and supports the development of students’ skills in a professional international environment to provide them with a unique engineering experience.
Bahrain Polytechnic gives access to its students’ network, and in collaboration with Fives, manages the different actions of the project.
Tamkeen is sponsoring the program with an objective to enhance Bahraini individual skills in various industrial sectors. This is in line with their support to the Bahraini workforce, aiming at developing international exposure and academic experience.
In 2019/2020, 5 students spent their internship in various Fives’ companies, 2 were in France, one was in Switzerland and 2 stayed in Barhain due the global current situation. Four of them have already presented their project and validated their placement, and the fifth one will do it at the beginning of 2021.
All students were very enthusiastic about this experience, which enabled them to improve both their professional skills and their capabilities to adapt in a foreign culture.
The success of this initiative illustrates the fact that the industry is also there to support young people and asserts Fives’ ambition that Industry can do it.
