DPD selected Fives to install two new automated handling systems in France
DPD in France is part of DPDgroup (Groupe La Poste company), the second largest parcel delivery network in Europe.
DPD France collects, transports, tracks and delivers parcels and documents relying on a network of more than 60 sites and over 2,000 employees. DPD France delivers more than 300,000 parcels daily to businesses and consumers at home or via parcelshops (Pickup network).
In 2014, Fives began working with DPD France: trust and confidence is still confirmed today with the signing of contracts for two handling systems located in Rhône Alpes and Paris.
Core of Fives’ turnkey solutions, is GENI-BeltTM cross-belt technology, equipped with high-speed induction lines, different types of chutes, upstream / downstream conveyors and a non-conveyable system to handle NCY items.
High performance, accuracy, availability and flexibility in items handling: that's just some of the benefits DPD will get selecting Fives’ solutions. Both systems will handle a wide range of items including sacks and tires, enabling DPD France to improve the service offered to its customers and its overall delivery network.
The sites will open in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
