When a field challenge gives rise to an industry-ready solution
At Fives CortX, the Gateway development project originated from a simple question: how can industrial OT data be better leveraged to make it accessible, understandable, and valuable within IT systems, to improve diagnostics, performance and the reliability of industrial equipment?
The evolution of DiziScop Gateway deployment
Why use a Gateway?
The Fives CortX Gateway forms the essential technical foundation — it is the core connectivity layer required to reliably and continuously collect and transmit machine data.
Unlike one-off diagnostic tools used during specific interventions, the Gateway is part of a long-term approach, enabled by:
- continuous data collection,
- the creation of a historical data record,
- long-term analysis,
- and simplified incident diagnosis feedback and troubleshooting.
This new way of leveraging data is transforming the management of technical issues. Instead of scrambling during emergencies, continuous data collection, combined with analysis and contextualization in CortX Alchemy, turns your operational data into a powerful tool for insight, decision‑making, and, most importantly, anticipating issues before they occur.”This approach enables sustainable improvements in industrial performance.
Automation to accelerate deployment
At the launch of the project, installing and configuring a Gateway required the involvement of three Fives experts — data acquisition, web development, and systems / network specialists. This process was technically solid but slow, highly dependent on individual availability and difficult to scale.
The integration of an automation tool, combined with scripts and a dedicated infrastructure, made it possible to standardize and significantly accelerate Gateway deployment while drastically reducing manual intervention.
For our customers, this means faster, more reliable and reproducible installations, as well as the ability to deploy multiple pieces of equipment in parallel, reducing lead times and responding more effectively to operational needs.
Our objective:
👉 to deploy 1,000 DiziScop Gateways per year in order to meet customer requirements.
Today, thanks to automation and standardized processes, our teams are capable of producing approximately 30 Diziscop Gateways per day.
Above all, a collective success
This project is, above all, a team achievement. Several colleagues played a critical role in building the infrastructure and the deployment platform:
- Salim and François implemented the infrastructure and deployment,
- Pablo developed the automation scripts,
- Thomas ensured project coordination and overall cohesion.
The IT team also made a major contribution by providing innovative technical solutions to accelerate and secure production.
“The DiziScop Gateway is a concrete example of a project born from a real field need, driven by a clear vision, and transformed through collaboration, automation and technical innovation.”
