New contract signed with EQIOM, member of CRH Group, for the upgrade of a cement grinding plant in France
Summer 2024, EQIOM and Fives FCB signed a contract to upgrade a cement grinding plant located in Héming, France. Key decision factors were the FCB TSV™ Classifier THF utmost performances and the necessity to perform this project within a challenging schedule.
The FCB TSV™ Classifier to upgrade the cement grinding mill
EQIOM was looking to upgrade its cement grinding plant in order to improve separation performances and produce cement at a higher fineness while reducing energy consumption. The project ultimate goal was to reduce the clinker factor of the cement and its CO2 footprint.
A very high efficiency dynamic classifier for a lower clinker factor
To address Eqiom’s requirements, we proposed the integration of an FCB TSV™ 4000 THF Classifier and an FCB TGT® Filter connected with the existing circuit. The implementation of our TSV will bring improvements such as:
- A reduced clinker factor thanks to improved separation performances, and a better control of both fineness and particle size distribution,
- An improved quality of cements produced,
- The possibility of producing cements at higher fineness,
- A reduced energy consumption, by improving workshop efficiency and increasing production.
Project management
Our ability to manage turnkey projects was also a decisive factor, as the contract includes not only the design and supply of highly efficient proprietary equipment, but also civil and steel structure design, steel structure supply as well as steel structure and mechanical erection, and commissioning. Close collaboration and responsiveness are essential to ensure a smooth connection during the plant's annual shutdown in early 2025 and commissioning.
