New technologies for greener steel
Hyundai Steel and Fives held their joint Future Tech Forum at Hyundai’s R&D center in Dangjin, South Korea on February 27-28, 2023.
Fives presented its advanced technologies in-series of several sessions, covering:
- Market trends
- Digital solutions
- Decarbonization solutions for reheating furnaces and strip processing lines, a crucial issue for steelmakers worldwide
- Metallurgical support and process technologies for 3rd generation advanced high strength steels
A special focus was made during a workshop on digital solutions and predictive models enabling steelmakers to enhance product quality, increase productivity and prevent human’s errors. Case studies of SmartLine and VirtuoTM implementation achieving outstanding results were highlighted.
