Passion, pride and generation transition
The Open House Day, which gathered approx 550 visitors, was held at Ronchin, a historical base of Fives ECL, on September 10, 2022, on the occasion of Fives ECL’s 75 years of anniversary.
“I am personally attached to the company as I started here with my first job and now 28 years later, I am striving to show my children the value of work” says Vincent Murgia, Regulatory Control Manager of Fives ECL, surrounded by older and younger members of the family.
“I am passionate of what I do, and I want to show my family what I’m proud of” comments Dominique Verlinde, Civil Work Designer at Fives DMS, whose grandson enjoyed building LEGO machines, similar to the ones assembled at the workshop.
“For 33 years I have been Fives DMS and have become very attached to the workshop environment, from the mechanical machines to everything that you can create by yourself” states René Plouvier, HSEQ – General Services Manager of Fives DMS.
“I am proud to show all my colleagues the big transformation that we have had at the Fives ECL workshop. It was a long journey: we created seven groups, using a Kaizen concept, to involve all employees in order to improve the workshop flow and its functions, and this is what we wanted to demonstrate today” highlights Jean-Christophe Echilley, Industrial Director of Fives ECL.
A variety of activities were carried over during the Open House Day, such as historical photo and video discovery, real machine demonstration and 3D model interaction, kid workshops and a family buffet, both in the office building and a newly transformed workshop of Fives ECL inaugurated on 30th June 2022. This event creates an opportunity for younger generations to see the professional work of their parents, or other family members.
