“Fives is our long-term trusted partner. Its professional technology and reliable equipment have provided critical support for our production capacity expansion. This new project will further deepen our cooperation, and we look forward to creating more achievements together,” says Zhu Guosen, Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group

Latest generation technology
The new vertical annealing furnace - Stein Digiflex® - will be equipped with the latest generation of the AdvanTek® combustion system, which is characterised by energy efficiency, fuel flexibility and low emissions, as well as a FlashCooling® rapid cooling system.

The FlashCooling® system offers operational flexibility in terms of cooling rate control, temperature cycle control and uniformity of cooling.

In addition, the annealing furnace will be designed to give Shougang Jintang full flexibility in controlling the furnace atmosphere management, which is critical to achieving the required metallurgical targets and galvanized surface quality.

“With this new contract, Shougang Jintang and Fives reaffirm their successful collaboration over 20 years in the field of exposed and high-strength steel grades for the automotive industry, from advanced research to industrial implementation. We are honored to take over the implementation of this new annealing furnace for CGL №9, combining our latest process technologies with the extensive expertise cultivated by our teams,” says Stéphane Mehrain, Vice President of Marketing & Sales – Steel Global Sales.

In total, Shougang Jingtang has been operating six Stein Digiflex® annealing furnaces at the Caofeidian facility since 2005, which have contributed to the steelmaker’s leading position in the demanding market for high-quality automotive steel.
