Fives secures large machine order with a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer
Fives Landis Ltd. has secured a large order for 5 x Landis LT2e and 4 x LT2He grinding machines to manufacture both camshafts and crankshafts. These machines will be installed into plants based in Western Europe and South America.
As part of a long-standing collaboration with Fives Landis Ltd., these new machines will allow our customer to develop a brand new, more flexible engine configuration that will further develop their future commercial group fleet. Additionally, these machines also give full flexibility to manufacture their existing range of camshafts and crankshafts, in addition to the newer engine developments.
The performance benefits of the Landis LT2e camshaft grinding machines include a combination of three grinding wheel spindles, a flexible automatic tooling solution and state-of-the-art Landis AI simultaneous cam lobe grinding software.
The LT2He crankshaft grinding machines give superior reliability, stability, tooling flexibility and overall quality over time, all facilitated through Landis patented grinding wheel contour control technology, which convinced the customer to purchase against some fierce competition.
These machines are currently being built at Fives Landis Ltd. in Cross Hills, UK.
