FIVES ESTABLISHES ITS POSITION AS A LEADER IN THE MAINTENANCE OF SNCF TECHNICENTER INSTALLATIONS AND TOOLS
SAFETY AND QUALITY
Fives has offered its support to SNCF to maintain its installations and tools since 2009. This long-term collaboration has allowed the two companies to IMPROVE SAFETY within facilities and significantly improve the reliability of installation and tool maintenance, all while optimizing costs. Fives has made a commitment to SNCF to OPTIMIZE PRODUCTIVITY GAINS BY 30% and improve results in terms of safety, installation availability and quality.
As part of this contract renewal, Fives has been awarded 3 out of 5 work packages, the highest possible number for a single provider. This covers 23 SNCF sites, including all industrial technicenters recognized as the most technical. In addition to this commercial success, Fives was also awarded the prize of “2021 SNCF Supplier” in the "Social Innovation" category for its internal training school, Fives Academy – Maintenance. SNCF appreciated its objective to address the shortage of qualified labor in the industrial maintenance sector.
The 150 Fives employees dedicated to rail maintenance work with SNCF on a wide range of installations, including:
- underfloor wheel lathes, to machine axles;
- lifting equipment, to lift, move and handle heavy loads;
- pit jacks, to fit and remove axles;
- machine-tools, to precisely and repeatedly move a tool to machine a part.
