FIVES SUPPLIES THE WORLD’S FASTEST TUBE PRODUCTION LINES
Fives was asked to supply the world's fastest tube production lines for a leading manufacturer in the United States.
In partnership with its customer, Fives pushed its standard tube mill range to achieve record production speeds. The new developments incorporated in these lines empowered motor gears, faster accumulators and flashing welders.
The order includes four OTO welded tube mill lines able to produce galvanized tubes to protect cables from magnetic fields and impact or crush damage. The two smallest rolling mills are able to reach a world record speed of 335 m/min.
The safety and automation aspects were considered very closely, with the facility including a complete system for automatic coil loading and crane and burr orientation devices.
