More than just a machine designer, Fives is a SUPPLIER OF COMPLETE MACHINING SOLUTIONS, that enable industrial player to modernize their processes and increase their production.
Last August, Nexter inaugurated their new high-speed machining unit developed by Fives, which will eventually enable the production of parts required for 450 vehicles per year. This is part of the NextFab modernization project, which aims to TRIPLE THE ANNUAL PRODUCTION CAPACITY of Army machinery and vehicles by 2025.
A chance for Sylvain Rousseau, Nexter's Director of Operations, to emphasize the major step that the commissioning of this machining cell plays in the production ramp-up of the Roanne site, and the UNPRECEDENTED CAPACITIES ACHIEVED ON AN INDUSTRIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL LEVEL THANKS TO FIVES’ EXPERTISE.
At Airbus Helicopters, the fully automated Liné Machines cell for machining composite helicopter blades is now in production at its Dugny site. It helps MODERNIZE AIRBUS HELICOPTERS' PRODUCTION PROCESSES and meets their ambition to meet automation of their processes through robotics, programming and process control levers, which are integrated into the production chain.
The Nexter machining cell, featuring high-speed machining (HSM) technology combined with advanced automation and digitalization, includes four Forest-Liné V-Star machines, two of which have already been installed. It can trim and drill the thick aluminum plates required to manufacture the sides of SCORPION program armored vehicles.
The automated cell installed at Airbus Helicopters includes the Liné Machines RoboTool technology to position and hold the blades, a Liné Machines HMM horizontal milling machine to machine the blades, and the Liné Machines RoboFinish for blade deburring.
