Safety: Fives acquires five new certifications
In October 2014, Fives received MASE certification for its site in Montévrain, France.
In October 2014, Fives received MASE* certification for its site in Montévrain, France, and for all of its client sites, applicable to its maintenance activities. The process, initiated in 2013, was declared successful after a three-day audit conducted at the Fives site as well as at client sites.
In 2014, Fives also received OHSAS 18001* certification in November for its site in Keighley, United Kingdom (Grinding | Ultra Precision business line) and in December for its sites in Seclin, France, (Manufacturing business line) and Concord Twp., Ohio in the US (Cutting Tools | Abrasives business line). In January 2015, Fives also successfully passed the OHSAS 18001 audit for its site in Suzhou in China (Cryogenics | Energy business line).
For several years now, Fives has been committed to preventing occupational risks and developing a strong safety culture shared by one and all. Nine sites are presently OHSAS 18001 certified and three are MASE certified.
* MASE and OHSAS 18001 are the two recognized certifiable standards in terms of management and safety.
The MASE (Manual for the Improvement of Company Safety) is a French safety management system aimed at permanent and continuous improvement of companies' health and environmental safety performance.
OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) is a generic international standard for health and safety management at work aimed at improving risk management in order to reduce accident rates, comply with legislation, and improve company performance.
