Fives Nordon takes over the assets of ACPP, a company specializing in high-tech projects for the nuclear and defense sectors

Tuesday May 25, 2021, the Rouen Commercial Court has issued its decision regarding the Normandy subsidiaries of the Manoir Industries group, which were in receivership. For ACPP (Ateliers de Constructions du Petit Parc), based in La Hague, the Court selected the takeover bid made by Fives Nordon, specializing in high-tech industrial piping, as part as ACPP’s disposal plan.

ACPP, a recognized player whose expertise complements Fives Nordon

ACPP, located in Digulleville near La Hague (in the Manche department), has unique expertise and experience in sheet metalwork, piping, welding and mechanized welding. Recognized for the high quality of its deliverables in high-tech industrial projects, ACPP is the preferred partner of major national clients, especially in the nuclear and defense sectors.

ACPP's expertise, which makes it the go-to player for complex projects in demanding sectors, complements Fives Nordon's own expertise, which designs and manufactures piping networks and equipment, and provides high value-added services and maintenance within the Fives group. Established at the beginning of the 20th century in Nancy, Fives Nordon, which has around 700 employees, has since been a major player in energy programs (thermal and nuclear power plants).

A meaningful takeover

By taking over ACPP's assets - excluding assets related to pickling and passivation, Fives Nordon is extending and strengthening its offer for major national clients in the strategic nuclear and defense sectors through:

  • Complementary expertise, which will enable Fives Nordon to harness ACPP's specific expertise (with, for example, a leading position in sheet metalwork, manufacturing spent fuel pools for instance)
  • An extended client portfolio;
  • The creation of a new base in the region on the Cotentin peninsula, near La Hague, which complements Fives Nordon's current locations – the company already has a historic presence in Normandy through its Yvetot branch, which employs 110 people and is involved in maintaining all the power plants in Normandy and the Hauts-de-France region, and also through its active role in the construction of the new Flamanville EPR.
  • New skills joining a dynamic company, which has an ambitious program to hire new welders, pipe fitters and site managers this year – profiles that are particularly sought after.

Fives Nordon's takeover bid for ACPP was supported by the Normandy region.

Jean-Jacques Depuydt, President of Fives Nordon, said: "Affiliating ACPP with Fives Nordon makes a lot of sense industrially speaking and will enable the teams, who are recognized for their high level of expertise, to develop within a solid organization. We are also combining very similar corporate cultures, which share the same high quality standards, the same passion and the same commitment. Together we will be able to better serve our customers, especially in nuclear power, an industry of excellence.
