Fives committed to a high level of Corporate and Social Responsibility in India

 

Over the past 5 years, Fives through its Aluminium subsidiary in India has been demonstrating a significant impact on the local community, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, rural development, livelihood improvement and the environment.

— 2017-2018: the company helped to create/construct a proper classroom infrastructure for 40 students at the Montessori school established by the Suyam Charitable Trust in Chennai. The school’s objective is to provide education to first generation learners who belong to nomadic tribes as well a to children from brick chambers. The trust has supported ~ 1,500 students in their education since 2003.

— 2018-2019: the company provided a 26-seat school bus to transport the children of the Satya Special School in Pondicherry. The school welcomes children with various mental disabilities (autism, Down's syndrome, mental retardation, learning difficulties and multiple disabilities).

— 2019/2020: the company contributed through financial support to the Anandham Youth Foundation in Chennai whose main objective is to support deserving and economically poor rural students obtain higher education after their school education. The mission is to transform an entire generation through education by encouraging the pursuit of higher education.

— 2020-2021: the company financed the ICU ambulance (accident and transport of poor patients in rural areas) for the Scudder Memorial Hospital (SMH). This multi-specialty charitable health care hospital provides care at subsidized/free cost to rural people in and around Ranipet district, covering 75 villages, 6 towns, 10 panchayats with a population of about 2.5 million regardless of religion, caste, creed or socio-economic status.

— 2021-2022: the company contribute to the construction of an Emergency Care Unit for the RMD Pain & Palliative Care Trust. This NGO provides palliative care to terminally ill patients and their families through medical care and counselling having out / in patient medical service. The beneficiaries are the economically weaker sections of society and people abandoned or neglected by their families. So far, 68,000 people have benefited.

With such initiatives, the company strives to contribute to a positive impact on society and is fully aligned with Fives' ambition of “faire aimer l’industrie”.
