Steps forward in decarbonizing the steel industry

TWINGHY, the ambitious EU project that aims to decarbonize the steel industry by replacing fossil fuels with hydrogen burners, is making significant progress. The latest advancements were presented at the 5th TWINGHY General Assembly, which was hosted by Fives on March 11-12, 2025 in Bilbao, Spain.

The meeting brought together the consortium partners to discuss updates, testing strategies and project timelines for the industrial integration of the new reheating burners, and to visit Celsa's Global Steel Wire facility in Santander, Spain.
