Introducing the Rhodax Club: Advancing Green Anode Plant Technology
The Rhodax® Process: A Brief History
The Rhodax® process, jointly developed by ALUMINIUM PECHINEY (today RIO TINTO) and FIVES in the early 2000s, revolutionized Green Anode Plant technology. Its unique approach to dry mix preparation has been adopted by major players worldwide. In 2003, ALBA became the first industrial user of this groundbreaking technology.
Twenty years later, the Rhodax® process has become the keystone of 11 Green Anode Plants (GAPs), collectively producing 2.7 million tons of anodes annually, feeding various pot technologies.
The Purpose of the Rhodax® Club
At the core of the Rhodax® Club are the shared experiences of its members who are all aluminum producers using this technology. The focus is on the Rhodax®-based dry mix preparation line, covering both operational aspects and maintenance practices. By learning from one another, the club ensures that the Rhodax® process remains at the forefront of green anode technology.
