Fives successfully performs a remote commissioning to replace a competitor’s burner
Due to the travel restrictions linked to the health crisis, this commissioning was carried out remotely with the cooperation of the customer.
The 143 MW coal/petcoke Pillard NOVAFLAM® Evolution burner with oil as start-up was supplied as a replacement for an old competitor's burner. The aim of this replacement was to increase the kiln capacity to 9,000 tpd (tons per day) without impacting NOx emissions whilst maintaining a good clinker quality despite a high sulfur content in the petcoke.
The installation is now in production. An intervention is planned in the coming weeks to further optimize the operation and ensure the client is satisfied with the performance of its new Pillard NOVAFLAM® Evolution burner.
