Within the construction of their aluminium smelter in Abu Dhabi, EMAL awarded Fives Solios with the contract for the hot bath cooling and processing unit. This smelter is one of the largest worlwide, with an initial capacity of 750,000 tons per year of aluminium.
It is the first industrial implementation of Celsios, the latest technology for hot bath processing developed by Fives Solios. It combines a first section for pre-crushing and cooling thanks to a specifically designed crusher and a low speed metallic pan conveyor. A second section is designed for final bath cooling and crushing thanks to a Fives Solios fully air swept autogenous mill.
This unit meets EMAL's high environmental standards with a dust content at stack lower than 5 mg/Nm3, and the flow of fluorinated fumes collected on the pan conveyor are directed to the GTC.
