In 2010, Fives Solios successfully started-up all its faciliites at the Qatalum smelter in Qatar.
After a first anode produced in February 2010, the Green Anode Plant including both the Rhodax® and the IMC® processes, as well as Xelios, gradually reached its 60 tph rated capacity, today the highest capacity in one single line.
The Firing Equipement & Control Systems on anode baking furnaces are operating as per customers’ expectations and confirmed the ability of Fives Solios to implement a full WiFi communication network with safety automates by Rockwell.
The Qatalum operation team also took over the (4) Fume Treatment Plants equipped with sea water scrubbers to treat gases coming from the electrolysis pots, and the Fume Treatment Center on anode baking furnaces.
In the casthouse, the (11) Furnaces and their associated Water Cooling System were also fully completed in 2010.
These great achievements demonstrate the Fives Solios capabilities' to execute large turnkey project worwide.
