Fives Solios and Rusal, the world’s largest aluminium producer, resumed their long-standing cooperation.
Solios Environnement SA signed the contracts amendment with Rusal for design, manufacturing and delivery of Gas Treatment Centers (GTC) to both Taishet (TaAZ) and Boguchany (BoAZ) aluminum smelters in Russia. In 2008, the construction of the two modern aluminum smelters were put on standby due to the world financial crisis, but this year Rusal restarted the realization of these large-scale investment projects.
For BoAZ smelter, which Rusal is building jointly with RusHydro in Krasnoyarsk region, Solios Environnement SA will supply two Gas Treatment Centers for pot lines, equipped with Vibrair technology and Yprios, dual duct system. The smelter’s design capacity stands at 600,000 t/year of aluminium with first metal forecasted in 2013.
The TaAZ smelter, to be built in Irkutsk region should operate at 410,000 A, one of the highest amperages in the world, to produce 750,000 t/year of aluminum. Solios Environnement SA will supply two Gas Treatment Centers for pot lines also equipped with Vibrair and Yprios.
Fives Solios Vostok, the Russian subsidiary of Fives Solios in Moscow, signed contracts with Rusal for supervision of GTCs erection and commissioning.
