Fives Solios was awarded a contract by Vitmetco for the upgrade of the Firing & Control System on the Anode Baking Furnaces 1, 2 and 4, at their ALRO smelter, in Romania.
The main objective of the customer is to decrease the fuel gas consumption of their system, supplied by Setaram, and to prevent from tar formation and deposit inside Exhaust Ramp and Ring Main.
Fives Solios will take the opportunity to set up its latest technological achievements such as Port Sealing Ramps (PSR) and CO analysers.The PSR is an ergonomic and tight solution to eliminate the incursion of cold air into the fumes exhaust line.
The contract also includes the upgrade of level 2 control system as well as the supervision of equipment erection and commissioning.
This is the first industrial implementation of the Port Sealing Ramp technology, which represents a good opportunity for Fives Solios to confirm the capabilities of this new system, developed and tested at the Mozal smelter to enhance the sealing function.
