Fives Solios has been active in the US with supply of proprietary scrubbing equipment since the late-1990s to industrial kilns and industrial-sized coal fired boilers.
Acid gases are neutralized by chemical reactions with basic reagents such as lime. In the Fives Solios Enhanced All-Dry Scrubbing System, the primary removal of acid gases is achieved in our proprietary Venturi Reactor. The intimate contact between acid laden flue gases and the solid reagents during an appropriate residence time, results in primary acid gas removal.
Afterwards, gases and solids flow into the Fives Solios pulse-jet fabric filter dust collector which serves as the final particulate collection device as well as a secondary reactor, enhancing the overall acid gas scrubbing efficiency.
The EAD (Enhanced All-Dry) scrubbing system is based on hydrated lime reagent. The EAD scrubbing system uses Fives Solios’ patented Conditioning Drum to humidify recirculated reagent.
Upon injection of the recycle material into the Venturi Reactor, the heat of the process gas evaporates the moisture from the reagent surfaces, which simultaneously:
Cools the flue gases to the ideal reaction temperature
-
Lowers the reagent surface temperature
-
Increases the humidity at the point of reaction.
These three factors provide optimum conditions for increased reactivity of the hydrated lime reagent with SO2 acid gas.
