A good example of this was demonstrated when in 2003 - ALBA, one of the world’s leading aluminium producers, gave Solios Thermal the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to deliver when they awarded them the contract for turnkey supply of the casting lines for their Line 5 expansion. The scope of supply included 11 furnaces (two of them complete with electromagnetic stirrers), 3 Vertical Direct Chill (VDC) billet casters, 1 Continuous ingot caster and all interconnecting launders, associated degassing and filtration units. Alba’s financial risk was also considerably reduced by placing this turnkey order for the complete casting lines with a reliable experienced company and this helped the whole project to be completed inside Alba’s budget forecast. |
