IMC

Fives Solios offers tailor-made solutions for paste quality optimization: IMC®, Intensive Mixing Cascade

The IMC process includes:

A Fives Solios deep spiral screw and preheating dry material by HTM
Intensive mixing for coating and infiltration of pitch in dry material
An intensive cooler-mixer completes the kneading while the intensive cooling effect is achieved by injecting a controlled amount of water on to the paste.
A Pitch Fume Treatment system, EOLIOS, based on a combined Dry-Scrubbing and RTO technology.  The Regenerative Thermal Oxider is dedicated to heavy tar loaded fumes coming for the cooler.

The main resulting advantages are:

Dealing with plants of high paste line capacities: of 50 to 70 t/h
Reducing pitch consumption due to intensive mixing effect.
Better anodes quality due to a high homogenization effect
Reduced pitch consumption due to intensive mixing effect.
As a result, there is almost no waste reject and to a maximum of 1 or 2 anodes rejected with the cold launch
Possibility of  producing anodes at a higher temperature
Reduced jamming risks in harsh health and security conditions
Significant reduction of investment and maintenance costs (parts, labor, frequency and duration of shutdowns.)
