|Founded in 1920 by the Brothers A. and M. PILLARD, the company concentrated at first on fuel oil burning techniques, specially for marine boilers, due to the coal shortage resulting from the 1914-1918 war.
||"Société PILLARD" was the first firm in Europe involved in the design, patenting and development of fuel oil burners of the variable flow type. Then came automatic control devices of the progressive modulation type, and other achievements which helped to make the best possible use of liquid fuel for industrial boilers, whatever their design or size, as well as furnaces used in glass works, cement works or more generally for calcination, roasting and other heat treatment processes.|
|A steady expansion, delayed, but not stopped by the Second World War, has been one of the Company's strenghtenings.
New fields of activity, including firing by natural gas, air, hot gas and hot oil generators were added in an evergrowing development.
The return to coal firing paved the way for improvements in pulverized coal combustion technologies.
Fortified by their experience gained over the years, today, Fives Pillard design and manufacture combustion equipment and control systems for the mineral industries and for the production of electrical and thermal energy. Fives Pillard have also developed a wide range of analysers and instruments to master plant monitoring.
