Reducing NOx emissions by 75% in two Belgian Power Stations 

In 2006, Electrabel decided to retrofit Unit N° 6 of the Electrabel Ruien thermal power plant (Belgium) with the goal of reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by putting it into compliance with EU Directives 2001/80/EC for Natural Gas firing, the main
fuel. The contract was awarded to the CMI Energy Services Company (Belgium), which subcontracted the replacement of burners to Fives Pillard Marseille (France).
In 2007, Electrabel renewed its confidence to the same companies for a similar retrofit at Les Awirs thermal power station (Belgium).
