Reduction of NOx emissions for one boiler at S.T.I.T. company, TOUL (France) 

The S.T.I.T. heating plant (S.T.I.T. means “Société Thermique Industrielle Touloise”) depending on ELYO Nord-Est, is equipped with 3 boilers for producing steam for the KLEBER plant in TOUL (France).

The revamping consisted in first replacing one Fives Pillard dual-fuel natural gas/heavy oil type burner, by a Fives Pillard GRX

LONOxFLAM®, dual-fuel, natural gas/diesel oil type, aiming at reducing NOx emissions, in compliance with the local

environment authorities, who newly decreed emission levels limits for firing with natural gas:

NOx < 120 mg/Nm3 (equivalent NO2) @ 3% O2 dry basis

CO < 100 mg/Nm3 @ 3% O2 dry basis

It has to be noticed that burner operation with diesel oil is only for back-up operation, limited to a maximum of 10 days per

year.
