NORDON’s name has always been associated with welding techniques. Since its inception, our Company has created the necessary means to train its welders and to develop welding processes appropriate for new materials and alloys. The welding school is highly reactive during welding trials and ensures real-time diagnostics of test samples.
Research and Development
With the creation of its Welding School in the 1970s and thanks to the high-tech expertise of its instructors and the practical skills of its monitors, NORDON has successfully qualified, improved and implemented a wide range of welding processes which are appropriate for materials and current welding constraints required by most international codes and client specifications.
The NORDON welding school not only provides technical support but it also serves to reassure clients that they will benefit from high reactivity which is key to the success of a sitework.
Internal training
The Welding School is also a recognised Training Body and, as such, provides internal training for our welders and operators and external training for interns in cooperation with regional schools. These relations with regional partners also allows us to identify and recruit young talent.
Role of the welding school
Initial training
Training through apprenticeship or professional training contracts for beginning candidates desiring to learn the trade of welder or pipe fitter.
Training of new employees
New employees take training lasting 1 to 8 weeks depending on their admission level. This period is designed as a refresher, to introduce them to our welding methods and to qualify them on our processes.
> Training for welders and operators in new welding processes or materials
> Training for operators performing hydro- or roller-expansion of tubes
> Training for bonders and laminators in the assembly of composite materials
> Follow-up, training, refresher courses and coaching of site and workshop welders
Research and development of welding processes
> Research into parameters for the welding of new materials and programming of orbital welding generators
> Qualification of operating procedures for welding and continuous assembly (composite or expanded materials)
Technical support
> Support and technical assistance in workshops and on sites
