Eurodep is the French leader in healthcare pre-wholesaling, and stocks, distributes and delivers heathcare products for 230 laboratories. The group has four logistics facilities located near Charles-de-Gaulle airport covering over 50,000sqm.
As part of the creation of a dispatch depot in its newly-extended Mitry Mory facility, Fives Cinetic has been selected for the automation of order picking for completed parcels, and for the high-speed sorting of all of the dispatches.
The solution is made up of a three-level picking tower for Pick-to-Belt order picking, and of a Cross-Belt SBIR sorter with 56 exit chutes and with total sortation capacity of 7,200 parcels per hour (pph). With its cross-belt technology and its motorized exit mechanism allowing for smooth handling, this sorter is gentle on fragile parcels or those containing liquids such as syrups.
The sorter receives its parcels from two dynamic feeders each with a capacity of 4,000pph, benefitting from Fives Cinetic's considerable experience in high throughput.
The new installation driven by the Warehouse Control System (WCS) Trace® will be in operation early 2012.
This is the fifteenth cross-belt sorter to be set up in France since 2001 and confirms Fives Cinetic's leadership status in high-speed sorting equipment.
