OCP Répartition and Fives Cinetic, an example of a win-win partnership

Every day, OCP Répartition, the French leader in retail pharmacy solutions, manages to deliver to pharmacies in mainland France within two hours. The business of pharmaceutical retailer is governed by very specific regulations and has no room for error, relying on the skill of people and fully tested industrial logistics processes.

After an initial successful project at OCP’s site in Paris (the largest facility for the preparation of pharmaceutical orders in Europe), Fives Cinetic was asked to create a line dedicated to preparation of heat sensitive products for the OCP site in Lyon.

The latest contract signed between OCP Répartition and Fives Cinetic is for the creation of a handling line dedicated to preparation of temperature-controlled drugs and the complete overhaul of the warehouse control system (WCS) at the Bordeaux site. These three projects, relating to Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux, represent a total amount of 1.5 million euros. They involve mechanical, electrical, automation and industrial IT changes taking place in production.

OCP Répartition is meanwhile particularly satisfied with its long established policy of working with a limited number of long-term and loyal suppliers. Over the last 20 years, OCP Répartition has produced several tens of automated order-preparation installations and each of these installations is regularly subject to changes, adaptations and upgrades. However, all of these solutions have been provided by just a few partners. Since the end of the 1980s, OCP Répartition and Fives Cinetic have worked very regularly together, and the longevity of the partnership is a sign of success for both companies. Jean-Pierre Houssin, Head of Logistics and Assets with OCP Répartition, adds: "As a leader, OCP Répartition is obliged to maintain a level of total excellence. Our high standards therefore mean that our key suppliers, such as Fives Cinetic, must constantly progress and offer us ever greater performance. We benefit from the progress we demand of these suppliers… and so do they. It is a win-win partnership."
