Avenue des Jeux.com, the French specialist for the online sale of games and toys, which brings together different e-commerce sites (Avenue des Jeux, Patiwizz, Rue des Puzzles, Rue des Maquettes, Lutin Rouge) and has a stock of 30,000 games and toys, has selected Fives Cinetic for the mechanization of its order-preparation process.
To respond to its sustained growth, its logistics center (7,000 sqm) located in the region of Nantes, in Vieillevigne, is being extended to reach a surface area of 25,000 sqm.
To support its growth and respond to the high seasonal variability of its activity (Christmas, sales), Avenue des Jeux.com has entrusted Fives Cinetic with the complete automation of its order-preparation process.
This new client further adds to the list of e-commerce companies mechanized by Fives Cinetic: Pixmania.com, LDLC.com, Materiel.net, Grosbill.com and Orium.
To design the system, Fives Cinetic applied the keys for success of e-commerce logistics: shortest possible order processing time, ease introduction of new products, scalability of the solution to increasing flows and optimization of packaging.
The solution incorporates item picking into trays, the automated production of boxes and two 100% automated closing lines including packet height adjustment.
Last but not least, the system includes automatic transportation labeling, weighing and sorting, all controlled by WCS Trace® from Fives Cinetic.
The new system will be operational in July 2011 with a capacity of 15,000 packets per day.
