Fives Cinetic supplies a grinding machine for titanium bars

TiFast is a European company specialized in the production of titanium or titanium-alloy ingots, slabs and bars.

Titanium has properties that are of interest to industry as it is resistant to corrosion, erosion and extreme temperatures and is biocompatible. This is why it can be found in the aeronautics and aerospace industries, the biomedical sector and, increasingly often, in consumer goods such as golf clubs or motorcycles and bicycles.

Fives Cinetic grinding machines are perfectly suited to this high-potential market: Cinetic Giustina has supplied TiFast with a centerless grinding machine for R125-type bars, equipped with the Siemens 840D SL CN system for machine function control. The machined bars, with a diameter of between 8 and 60 mm and a length of between 3000 and 6000 mm, are loaded/unloaded from the machine using a motor-driven roller guide system. The post-process laser gauge with blowing station allows 100% verification of machined parts, compensating in real time for grinding wheel wear. Fixed-center machining combined with the rigidity conferred by the automatic post-process gauge ensures unequalled precision and productivity.
