October 29, 2009, Chardon, Ohio – Executives at the CITCO Products Operation of Cinetic Landis Corp. are pleased to announce that the recent recertification audit of the company’s ISO 9001 quality management program was successfully completed with no corrective action requests. The four-day audit covered all aspects of the business process, from quotation to shipment. Following a thorough review of the quality system documentation, auditors conducted comprehensive interviews of employees and collected evidence to support the quality system documentation.
According to Scot Sitler, Manager of Technical Services, CITCO employees demonstrated consistency throughout all areas of the company. “It was obvious to the auditor that we have a very knowledgeable workforce,” said Sitler. “The answers to the auditor’s questions were compliant to our documentation. We showed the auditor that we are all on the same page.”
Mr. Sitler acknowledged that, while requests for corrective actions from audits are not necessarily bad because they drive improvement, he was especially pleased with the results of this audit. “With the challenging times that the company has experienced, it is nice to have the reassurance that we are doing things right. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but we all can walk away from this audit with a feeling of accomplishment.”
CITCO employees have now embarked on a process to become certified for ISO-14001 (Environmental Management System), which will be integrated with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System). The company recently secured a grant for training and implementation costs through the Ashtabula and Portage Counties Partnership (GAPP). Mr. Sitler said, “This standard will not only help preserve our environment, it will help our business in the local and global marketplace.”
