Fives Cail was present at the South African Sugar Technologists' Association 2011 (SASTA) Congress which took place from August 17th to 19th. The SASTA Congress is the most important technical event for the sugar industry in the Southern Part of Africa.
This year, Fives Cail and its subsidiary Fives Fletcher were present at this event with a stand, and also presented a technical paper.
The South African Sugar Technologists' Association was founded in 1926. It is an organization of technical workers and others who are directly interested in the technical aspects of the South African Sugar Industry. This year, it was again held at the Durban International Conference Centre. With around 50 exhibitors and over 500 delegates, the 2011 congress was considered a success although the majority of the delegates from South Africa and surrounding countries were from the agricultural sector.
||Rob Sanders, Fives Fletcher Senior Process Engineer, presented a technical paper entitled "Recent Developments in Vertical Crystalliser Design", it was well received and generated some technical questions which were comfortably handled by Rob Sanders with the assistance of Mike Getaz who had co-authored the paper. |
Fives Cail received many visitors at the stand, among them a delegation from British sugar. Most of the visitors were interested in the benefits brought by Fives Cail's range of equipment for energy savings and cogeneration.
