In June 2011, Fives Cail was a presenter at the 10th International Sugar Forum held in the Kursk region of Russia. 128 companies from 19 countries presented their latest developments for the sugar industry during the forum. This represents an increase of over 30% in the number of exhibitors as compared with last year, when the forum was held in the Kursk region for the first time. Fives Cail and Fives Russia also conducted a seminar for sugar industry technologists at the Kursk Sugar Institute. They made a presentation concerning Fives Cail’s innovative technologies aimed at providing energy savings and costs reductions at the international conference entitled “Resources saving and biotechnologies as a basis for the competitive development of the Russian sugar industry”. |
 In recognition of the Fives group's 200-year anniversary and its 160 years of presence in Russia, Alexander Mikhailov, the governor of the Kursk region, and Andrey Bodin, Chairman of the Russian Sugar Producers Union, both greeted Fives group's representatives and wished them further success. The current close cooperation between Fives Cail and NT-Prom allows local sugar companies to benefit from innovative and efficient technologies adapted to the Russian market. During the forum, the Fives and NT-Prom delegations visited the Sakhar Zolotukhino sugar plant, where Fives Cail supplied 3 ZUKA batch centrifugals in 2009. |
